Comforts Contest

Comforts Contest!

As most of you already know, baby formula is the alterative to breast feeding. If you’re a perfectly healthy woman you should really consider breast feeding. Know I’m not telling you how you should feed your baby, or by what method, I’m just giving you my opinion. And by the way, my opinion is shared by just about every doctor in the world. It’s so important for your little baby to get all the vitamins, minerals, and nutrients required for a healthy start. Now if your not able to breast feed there are many choices of baby formula out there. Once you find the best fit for your baby make sure you don’t over pay by buying name brand formula’s. Make sure you check out Conforts for Baby Formula. Their prices are much lower than others, and offered in just about every shopping center.

Plus their running a contest to name their mascot, the firefly. The contest is for a $10,000 college scholarship, just for coming up with a name for the mascot. The contest is very easy and straight forward to enter. You basically need to name their mascot, which is a little firefly, which I can only imagine the names their going to receive. My pick to name this little firefly is Buzz, after all that’s what they do. So what‘s your pick?

Fighting Diseases

Fighting Diseases!

I came across a site tonight that offers a lot information related to the collection of cord blood and other useful information. Cord blood is collected from the umbilical during the birth of a baby. People at times will opt to bank the cord blood for future use if the child ever becomes ill related to a major disease, like heart disease. Now it’s not cheap to bank this cord blood, but if it treats diseases you may end up with it’s well worth it in the end.

I really don’t know much about the banking of cord blood, and you may not either, but this site has a lot of resources to help you understand it more. If more people understand cord blood and how it can save your child’s life I’m sure more people would bank it. One thing that I do know for a fact is that you can’t decide the day your given birth, they need to know well in advance. If you wait you will not be able to get it done. So if your thinking of doing cord blood banking make sure you research as much as you can, and as always, talk to your doctor.

Saving Money

Saving Money!

As most of you know, just a few short years ago my little one was born. One of the biggest things my wife and I had talked about was, should she be breast feed or should we use baby formula? The choice for my wife and I was an easy one, breast feeding was the best way to go. Not only is breast feeding the best for the baby, the savings are huge. We now how much baby formula cost, it’s not cheap at all. For me I could never really figure out why the brand name formulas cost so much more. The U.S government, FDA regulates what goes into baby formula. So basically what I’m saying here is, there’s no difference between brand name formula and store brand formula, it’s the same stuff. And if you don’t believe me check out the website Parent’s Choice Infant Formula. On their site they have a savings calculator that you can use to see how much you can save by purchasing store name brand formula. Plus the site also has other very useful information for parents. So whatever way you choose to go, breast feeding or baby formula talk with your doctor, and talk with each other. This is a very important choice your making for your baby.

Nebraska Safe-Haven Law

Nebraska Safe-Haven Law!

The state of Nebraska passed a safe-haven law in July of this year. And they have already taken in 36 kids that have been dropped off by their parents. With this new law parents just simply show up at any hospital and drop their kids off. I totally agree with law, children should always be kept safe. But what I disagree about this law is that they just changed a loophole in it. The law stated that any child could be dropped off at any area hospital. The problem as the state sees it is that the children being dropped off at times where teenagers. So now the new law states that the child age is limited to infants no more than 30 days old. I feel every child should have a safe place to go. Hopefully Nebraska officials will have a plan for the older kids to find a safe place to go. Because if they don’t these kids will end up on the streets.
